Stupid Question alert!!

Will a Uk english version of Windows Xp Pro work on any computer in the good old USA? English is english right? Just would like to know for sure before I purchase it. Seller says he is 95% sure that it would but just thought I would ask here.

Thanks in advance.

According to this recent thread, there was a problem with the keyboard character mapping. The problem was traced to the default input language (English US vs English UK).

Other than that I guess it's about the same if you do not also use the QWERTY keyboard functions.
Stick around for more inputs from others.

Control panel-region and language- select the language from the drop down list.

of course you can select english (us) as locale and input language when installing a uk english xp version. there aren't too many differences anyway ... i think £ and $, @ and " have swapped position.

would be a surprise to me, windows xp being cheaper in the uk than in the us of a ... you sure not confusing £ with $? and royal air mail ain't exactly cheap either :-)

Sure I'd go there but there will be no Ultimate - just the Starter Editions (barebone Vista).

i wouldn't call vista starter 'bare bone' ... still too bloated for real bare bone enthusiasts ... but vLite will do the job

quite some irony: gamers will be addressed with directX 10 ... but they prefer a slim operating system leaving them system resources in abundance, certainly not vista :-)
