Typing in Word 2003 slow respond time

The words appearing slowly could be due to a number of system resources being low The best way to find out is to go to task manager (press ctrl+alt+del) and find out if something is taking a high amount of CPU or RAM.

Hello, I have slow-down problem too with Word 2003 since yesterday. When i change the position of the caret, using the mouse or the keyboard arrows, it freezes for a short time, like 0.3 to 0.8 second. No freeze though when typing. Checked CPU and HDD resources, all at 0% (Perfmon) Any idea ?

I just solved my problem. I have Sybase PowerDesigner 12 installed. This program also added an Add-in into Word 2003. This add-in was the problem (probably an incompatibility with the last Office hotfixes). I just uninstalled (disabled) it and Word works just fine ^^. ------- What i did : 1. Word => Add-ins => WordToRQM => Remove 2. Close Word and confirm saving "WordToRqm.dot" 3. Goto "C:\Program Files\Sybase\ PowerDesigner 12\Add-ins\Microsoft Word Import Export" 4. unregister WordToRqm.dll ( regsvr32 /u WordToRqm.dll ) 5. rename the "Microsoft Word Import Export" by "Microsoft Word Import Export.DISABLED" (or anything else)

I just realized you were talking about the "Microsoft Word Import Export" folder. Thank for you help. It resolved my problem also.
