Before i upgraded to XP pro i had two video cards, one Trident 9680 PCI and one ATI Rage Pro AGP, and they both worked in 98. But after upgrading, the second video card does not work, in my Award BIOS I have it set to boot from the AGP, then the PCI card does not work. But if I boot from the PCI, the AGP card does not work. When I check the properties for the card that is not working, it says "This device cannot start. Code 10". I checked the MS KB but of course no help there. The drivers for both seem to be installed correctly, unistalled the PCI, moved it too a different slot, then restarted then XP found it again. Checked the ATI site and it says that I should use the driver for the Rage Pro that came with XP, which I am. Anybody know anything, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mmmm try going into your BIOS Setup and set the primary display to PCI.. then XP should install both cards properly..
I'm having the same problem now.. but with an added challenge.I'm a system builder for a company and a customer has stumped me with a build I'm doing.
I've got an ASUS Geforce2 MX400 and some kind of ATI Card.. after switching the primary display to PCI both cards installed.. but I've never worked with 2 video cards at the same time and don't know how htey should be working..during system boot.. I can switch between the 2 cards and I get video.. but once Windows has booted and drivers loaded.. I only get video from the AGP card. but the ATI card stll shows that there's a signal to the monitor.. but a blank screen..
Is this normal.. anyone have any ideas? pleeeeeease

Sounds like you all need to check out the HCL file (Hardware Compatibility File) for XP. You can find it at http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/ .
If the PCI card isn’t on the list then hang it up. Or hope that the manufacturer of the video card comes out with drivers to support winXP.
But working with 2 video cards just expands the desktop over 2 monitors so you can roll you mouse over to the 2nd screen and vice versa. I love having 2 monitors running on one pc it allows me to drag windows and toolbars over to the 2nd monitor and out of the way.
But finding a PCI video card computable and affordable for XP is almost imposable. So if anyone can tell me where I can get one for under say $50. Please let me know.
