Two operating systems at boot up

I recently had a corrupted file that prevented windows xp from booting up. I had many files that I didn't want to loose so I didn't want to do a clean install. I loaded xp again on the C drive and called it WINDOWS2. Then I booted to Windows 2, found and copied the file that was corrupted in my first OS then pasted the good file to my original OS. Now when I boot up I have two windows OS to choose from. I DON'T want two systems on boot up, only my original windows xp OS. How can I kill the second WINDOWS selection at boot up so my system will not pause and require me to select the correct one? ...I have deleted the WINDOWS 2 OS from the C drive but that didn't help. Must be in a config file somewhere??? Thanks for the help!

You should have just repaired the first one.
OK, Now delete the Windows2 Directory. to that youwill need to boot into your first windows xp. once you do that open MSConfig. Go to the boot.ini tab and click the button that say "Check Boot Paths". A message should come up saying that the boot path to your second windows xp is missing. you have have the option to delete the second boot selection that appears when you turn on your pc.
