I had to reinstall windows XP on my computer yesterday, and in the process two user accounts appear to have been created. Both accounts have administrator priviliges. One is called "Administrator" and the other one has my name on it. I simply want to remove one of them (I don't care which one).
Before the reinstall of XP, the administrator account was not shown in the list of users, so the only time it was encountered was if I started in safe mode. When booting normally, the computer used to start in the account with my name on it. It said "carln" on the start menu. Now it always boots to the administrator account.
I have gone to the users option in the control panel, but neither account has the option of deleting it available.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

This is normal, when you install XP it already has a built in Administrator account, it then allows you to add users. To remove one of them, go to....Start..Control Panel...Administrative Tools....Computer Management. Expand "Local Users and Groups", click on users. You will then see all the local user accounts on the machine. You can then right click and delete the one you want.
