I am going to tweak windows xp to run as well as possible on a pentium 233MHz 128MB RAM GATEWAY 2000 PC! Any tips would be greatly apprechiated!!!!

The best I have done with Windows XP is making it start up using only 35MB of RAM. I used the default theme as well. If I can do this then it makes me wonder, can I do any better?

This is only being done for experimental perposes. I put everything together myself with old parts I had laying around. I am doing this to see how well I can make Windows XP Professional Edition preform on this old machine. NO MODIFICATIONS WILL BE MADE TO ANY OF THE HARDWARE!

I want your help to make windows XP run as well as it possibly can on this old machine.
Give me your best advice and DO NOT SUGGEST ANY UPGRADES. I am really wanting to push this OS to the limit!

I think you have the right idea. Memory is the critical thing. Limiting the background applications running to the bare minimum will help. For the ones you have to run, try and find the ones with the lowest memory requirements.
