Please, I need help with this problem.
I just got a scanner - Mustek 1200UB, which is only compatible with Windows 95, 98 and 2000, but I have Windows XP.
Iv'e tried to download a new driver and Windows XP did found my scanner, but now when I'm trying to scan a picture or a photo, it gives me this error:

U32SCAN -
TWAIN error.[T009]error in getting the first twain data source.{T021]Unable to find the TWAIN source manager (TWAIN_32.DLL.
Please copy the TWAIN_32.DLL file from your source disk to your Windows folder. [T039]

So, I tried to replace the TWAIN_32.dll file in the Windows folder, but it is still the same error.
Maybe I need to use a different program, other than Ulead Photo Express 2 ?

Do I have a problem with my hardware or is it something connected to drivers ? please help me with this.
Thank you, Jake.

Jake,
I got my Mustek 1200 III EP scanner to work by following this procedure.:Start menu run program "Regedit.exe".
in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
rename the key "ProductName" from "Microsoft Windows XP" to "Microsoft Windows 2000".
Install the Mustek driver for Windows 2000.
Undo the changes in the Registry, when you have finished the scanner driver installation. This allowed me to install and use the Windows 2K driver for my scanner,as a version for XP was not available from Mustek. My scanner uses a parallel port not a USB connection but maybe this will work for you also.I don't think it would hurt to try a newer version of scanner software than what you have. Many companies offer a trial version of their software that you can look into.Paint shop pro would be one of many that you could try.Good luck.

Hi Jake

You may have downloaded a dodgy driver.
Try to find drivers from a different source.
Here are quite a few...
