Using an ATI card I can successfully clone my display to my tv but when I play video the pictrue is black on the tv even though it plays correctly on my pc???

Jeff, most video cards have two types of output and the type used by your PC is different from the one used by your TV. Look at the card and see if it offers 'S' video, RGB, regular single cable output. Hook your TV to the appropriate one. In most cases, you can have both types at the same time. HTH. Ed in Texas.
