When I connect my laptop to TV through S-Video port I get only Black and white picture and no sound.

Can someone help? It could be due to NTSC or PAL setting on my laptop. Does anyone know how to change these settings?

Not too sure about the picture, you could try downloading TVCC2000 (freeware) this should solve the picture settings but you will NOT get any sound with just an S-VIDEO lead, you will need to use a phono lead aswell! or just do what I do and get a decent set of speakers/sub-woofer for youe PC and use them! :)

Hope this helps

I had the same problem when I changed my t.v., I found the problem to be the t.v. output on the graphics card was set for s-video when my t.v. didn't support s-video. Changing this to pal corrected the problem. I also rewired the scart socket. I joined pin's 1&2 of the s-video connector and connected this to pin 21 (common Gnd), and pin's 3&4 of the s-video to pin 20 of the scart. You could also connect the sound into this scart using the 3.5mm stereo jack on your souncard and wiring it to the following pin's in your scart.
Connect both grounds to pin 4
Connect left to pin 6 and right to pin 2.
You could buy a cable with svideo & 2 phono's to scart but you would have to buy a 2 phono socket to 3.5mm stereo patch lead, i'm not sure if you can buy a sraight svideo & 3.5mm stereo to scart.

To check your diplay settings, right click on the desktop, click properties, click settings tab then advanced. You should find settings for your t.v. display in here. Make sure it is set for pal
