I have used my TV-out through S-Video for some time with my primary display going to the monitor on my Desk and the TV-Out working as a dual display to my Panasonic Television in another room for use when watching downloaded files like movies and TV shows.

In the past I had Windows 2000 Professional on my PC and had no troubles with the video quality or display of any movie files. Since I upgraded my OS to Windows XP Professional however all video files show as nothing more then a black screen where the video should be displayed. Video/Movies show with no issues on my desktop monitor and I am able to get everything else like the OS gui and all other content on my TV but not the video from movie files in any format.
I am using an ATI Radeon 7200 with TV-Out and have already updated all drivers for both my video card and Windows Media Player along with several other codecs for different movie file types but still nothing.

I have been through all the settings in monitors and tried several variations on the dual monitor settings including changing the primary display and secondary display device to see if that has any effect, but still nothing.

This also occurs on my grandparents laptop with XP Home Edition when connecting between the laptop and thier TV to watch DVD's from the Laptop. Only the video files do not play on the S-Video connected device.

I was wonding if anyone knew of a reason and possible solution to why XP is not displaying the Video on my S-Video connection but will display everything else.

install the k-lite codec pack and install the stock drivers that came with your video card whatever it is, if they don't work then try the latest ones
