Hey,

Does anyone know of a trick to turn off Windows Security Center from starting up in SP2 every time? I know that I don't have Windows Update on but I am getting annoyed that it continues to come up every start time telling me so...

A registery key maybe?

Thanx

Go to Control Panel-Security Centre- then click on the last choice on the list to the left, "Change the Way Security Centre Alerts Me" -- then clear all of the check boxes. You will see no more of it.

I have done that.

However it keeps on reverting back to the orignal settings every time after reboot...

Just goto start>run....type services.msc...find security center and double click...set to disabled.

Thanks!!
That shut up the little bugger... Kept checking my firewall after turning all 3 off.
Well well...another Windows bug, or are they just annoying us?
I'd say Window gotta have a selection box right after install:
-Expert mode
-Standard mode
-N00b mode

That'll lower the number of headaches at least a bit...

Another route to fix this:

Go to Start, Administrative Tools. (May be in Control Panel)
Choose Services, right click on Security Center, click on Properties.
Pick Log On tab, find the (any) Profile in the box and Disable it.

Security Center will not return after ReBoot.
