I have a wireless set up and i also have a powerline setup to run internet through my house. I needed to do a port forwarding task to open up my ABC(Bittorent DL Client) program. Is theere any way to turn off the firewall in my router? I have a netgear WGR614v2 or v3.

Having two firewalls is really added security for your system, especially if you are using P-P file sharing. Hackers love to hang out in those areas looking for open ports. Your router will have some way of opening the needed port, review your manual that came with it, or possibly they have an 800 help line (like D-Link does).
