Comment: Hello again, I would like to resolve a tiny issue that might not be a crucial one, but still: Whenever I turn off my computer, I need to turn off my monitor (proview 17") as well. My question to you, my fellow repliers; Is there anyway for the monitor to turn off automatically when I shutdown my PC? (without my needing to press to monitor power button) Thanks in advance. Why souldn't I post a question here? Oh, because some people might think it's part of the message. Right?

Reply: (edit)The old type pass-through wont work with a modern PC. When you switch off a computer with an ATX motherboard via the front panel there is still some power going to the Motherboard and therefore the power supply. With the old AT type motherboard the front panel switch switched mains power before it got to the power supply so it could also kill power to the pass-through as well. So as far as the monitor is concerned it has to be the switch. When the computer is turned off and the signal is removed the monitor will go into standby mode consuming less power but will still be using some. Stuart

Reply: (edit)Read THIS to better understand M$ jargon for "to turn your monitor off automatically." Hint: "Off" actually meant "sleep mode." i_Xp/VistaUser
