Turning off auto notification in Win XP

Well, How about turning off auto insert notification in XP Pro. It does not have the check box on the Properties page of my Yamaha2100S Which is in: Control Panel / System / device manager / DVD-CD-ROM Drives / Yamaha2100S. It also lists the SCSI CD-ROM and the DVD. It use to be there in Win 95/98/ME It must be a secret. I need to update my cd writer software and I have to turn the darn thing off, but I can not find it anywhere. The softare says turn it off and boots mt but out-a-there! I know I am not the only one with this version of XP. Thanks Much and have a great day!
