I've been having an annoying little problem on my HTPC (WinXP SP1). Where I used to have Start>Turn Off Computer> a "Turn Off Computer" screen with Standby, Turn Off, and Restart BUTTONS, I now have the old Start>Shut Down> a "Shut Down Windows" screen with a scrolling "What do you want the computer to do?" MENU with Log Off Administrator,Shut down, Restart, and Standby as choices. I'd rather have the Buttons since they don't "remember" the previous choice. Sometimes I do want to shut down instead of restart.

It seems all this started after I installed .NET. I had to then install TweakUI so I could autolog on.

I bet there's just something silly that I'm overlooking but thanks anyway!

If you go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users log on/off, and select "Use the welcome screen", that should put things back to the way they were before for the shutdown menu.
