Trying to install Sonic Stage v3.1

I have downloaded the sonicstage program numerous times and each time i try to install it the program terminates prematurely. I tried downloading and installing the same program onto another machine running windows 98 and it worked fine. I can only assume that there is something wrong with my XP Pro machine OS. Does anybody have any thoughts as to what I can check? Thanks, Ken
