My problem exists in internet properties.
When i click on the "Trusted Sites" the sites button is grayed out and the sites cannot be editted.
I contacted HP and talked with a support tech for over 2 hours and could not fix this problem.
He then sent me a link from HP that includes steps to take before upgrading to service pack 2.
I have already uninstalled service pack 2 from this machine and reinstalled which was no help. so I uninstalled again.
I really don't know when the problem started but just noticed one day that all sites I visited had no warnings about being restricted. the restricted sites button works fine but has hundreds of site listed and I never added them.
If anyone knows a fix PLEASE help with this problem.
Adaware, SpyBot, and Mcafee do not find any problems and any they do find I am able to delete.
I have tried Hijackthis .... and nothing there either.

May have something to do with SpyBot .

Open Mode & tick > Advanced mode .

Now go to > Tools > Resident & see if the 2 boxes are ticked .

Try unticking > Tea Timer .

What the Heck is Teatimer?

Thanks for the advice but when I checked the Resident in SpyBot there was nothing there. Just an empty box.
I did try the fix for ADWARE CDT from the Symantec site and found a bunch of stuff it listed and deleted it all from the Registry, with no results.
The "sites" button still does not work.
If anyone else would like to try and maybe come up positive results it's worth a try.
copy and paste this.

HijackThis log file analysis & repair
http://hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english
HijackThis is a program used by experienced users in order to detect browser hijackers. It allows you to identify any sort of spyware and malware (as well as some trojan horses and worms). This is achieved by scanning special zones of the registry as well as the hard disk drive, the results being listed in a structured window. Another feature of HijackThis is the creation of a log file, which can be saved as a simple text file and opened by any text editor (notepad as default). Until now, inexperienced users, who could not analyze the log file by themselves, had no other choice than posting it in a specialized forum and to hope that a more experienced user takes some time to analyze it. The script presented on this page is a way to analyze your log without help from the outside: simply copy/paste the content of the log file in the textbox below and hit the analyze button.
