Comment: Ok you gotta help me out here guys. I made a full backup on the 18th of March. I made a "Differential backup" a week ago and now when I need it, it tells me that the archive is not valid!!!!!! It is a .tib extension though. I can't even browse it... Please you have to help me out!! What's the point of doing backup if you can restore them? Or at least I need to browse it!!! Thanks a lot for ANY help whatsoever.

Reply: (edit)How does the 'Image Check' respond? If it fails, you might trying booting with TI boot disk and do an 'Image Check'. I've used my TI vers. 8 since it first came out. Had vers. 6 and 7 before that and no problems with any of them. Did you download (d/l) the program or do you have factory CD" If d/l, the file may have been corrupted while downloading. Try a new download. HTH, Bob

Reply: (edit)nah I have a valid registered copy. I have been using True image for 2 years now. Is there a 3rd party software that would let me explore my backup?

Reply: (edit)For whatever reason, the 'invalid' image was apparently corrupted. You might try making another image and use the 'Check Image' feature before you try to explore it. If a second try is corrupt, I'd go with another d/l copy and see how that behaves. Have you checked with Acronis Forum? www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/forum/ I'm not aware of any 3rd party s/w to explore an image. Bob

Reply: (edit)Well I think Ill just give up on that one. I havent lost anything really important, just 3 weeks of "some files are not at their place" I find that this is a stupid problem, and not being able to open the archive to at least view the file sucks. But, it is my fault, I just had to make sure it had worked fine, which I will do for sure from now on Thanks everyone!

Reply: (edit)According to Acronis, there is a "bug" in True Image that causes True Image to display the "archive not valid" message whenever you attempt to restore an archive. If you are a registered user of True Image, you may download the latest build of True Image from Acronis's website.
