I have all of a sudden started getting this problem with burning DVDs.It was working allright till sometime back when I started gettin " SCSI Target error" and cant burn any DVDs of any kind any more. On simulation the error I get is 'Unspecified target error' while using Nero 6

Though I can burn CDs with Nero, but even using Windows drag and drop burning - cant burn DVDs any more. I checked at http://www.nero.com/en/helptool/243.htm but didnt get any solution from there.

Any help is appreciated. I can email the error reports if someone can decipher them and suggest the solution.

Did that few times. Nothing changed. Problem is only when writing DVDs. CDs is OK. Also tried installing back Nero 5. Same problem. Same problem when writing DVDs with Windows drag and drop. Was working OK till sometime back.

In Device Manager, remove the DVD burner, then reboot and let Windows detect and re-install it. I think you'll find in Device Manager that the DVD burner is shown as being a SCSI device instead of IDE.
