I am experiencing problems with ICS (Internet Conection Sharing). I was having this trouble before on alother computer, but the problem was solved by changing the "LAN" card's IP address to 192.168.1.1 instead of 192.168.0.1. The Internet I am trying to share is SBC/ AT&T Yahoo! DSL. The modem is a Siemens SpeadStream 4100. I have followed an online tutorial (that said to use the default settings) with no avail. THe client computers are set with static IP addresses that connect to 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway and DNS server (which is the IP for the ICS server). This is for a home network. Can anyone pick up on where I went wrong? Thanks.

P.S. The online tutorial I used is here: http://www.homenethelp.com/ics/index.asp

In the mean time, I will continue to look for a solution.

Just curious here
Why do you want ICS when you can get a router and be on-line with any PC without relying on another PC being turned on?

What happened to my quote

This is cheaper, besides we leave our PCs on all the time (except during storms when they are unplugged).

I use Analogx's proxy. You can use any IP address. The readme tells how to set up the app.

I have used that before, e-mail doesn't work properly on the clients.

I set up another computer running Windows ME's ICS, and it works wonnerously, thanks for the suggestions!
