Trouble opening Outlook Express

Specs: Windows XP

When I try to open Outlook Express a box comes up telling me another instance is running and to log off windows before I can open it. How do I do that?

You log off Windows via the start button.

If you press Ctrl+Alt+Del keys together you could see if there are two appearances of msimn.exe (outlook express program file) in Task Manger. If so "End task" on one of them.

What is more to the point is whether the same thing happens if you restart the computer? That might be all you need to do.
