trouble installing audio driver

Acer / B223w

Specs: Windows XP, 384MB RAM
I have an acer B223W monitor with integrated speakers. Up until a month ago everything worked fine. Now, I can not get sound from the monitor speakers. I hooked up speakers to my tower, and have sound from them, but monitor speakers don't work. I located the driver in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color\B223W.icm (according to Acer), but windows says it can't open the file. What do I do to get my integrated monitor speakers working again? Please help. I'm a beginner, so please don't be too technical (probably obvious).

I'm not sure what you mean by "yellow markers"; I'm a computer idjit. But, there was nothing yellow in the device manager (markers or otherwise). Thank you for your response anyway. Can you try again?

if no markers, then most likely the driver is installed

it`s hardware issue, lol

try the monitor on another computer and see if it works

hey imperator....
just wanted you to know that acer has decided, like yourself, that it is a hardware problem. It's under warranty, and they're willing to fix it. All I have to do is PAY to ship it to them for repairs.... lol. Think I'll just hook up external speakers. Thank you very much for all your assistance. I hate being a puter idjit lol.
