Do you have Internet access? If you do go to this web address and try scanning your computer for viruses http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm and click on "Scan your PC".

Also, this could be spyware! If so Assuming once again you have Internet access go to http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10194058.html?tag=lst-0-1 to download "Spybot". After installation run the program and check for updates inside the program. After the updates have applied "check for problems". Removed anything it find sby clicking on the "fix problems tab at the bottom after scan has finished.

Turn off System Restore, reboot, then turn System Restore back on and reboot again.

Norton is bad about false positives. It kept telling me I had a virus called 'Chad' and would delete the file. 'Chad' kept coming back over and over infecting many different types of files.

After much investigating, I found out I never had a virus called 'Chad'. Norton is a pig and has problems getting along with Windows.

I now use Trend Micro's virus detection which also finds and kills adware and spyware, it won't even let you install software contaning ad/spyware unless you say it can. You can do a free online scan here: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
