http://www.computing.net/cgi-bin/mycomputing.plMy AVG resident shield keeps popping up saying I have trojan horse Backdoor.Agent.2.H. in C:\system volume information\_restore
Tells me "to remove this virus, please run AVG for Window". I did this a number of times, and it tells me "no viruses were detected". I have window XP operating system. Is this a virus in m PC, if so, how do I find it to get rid of it, and if not, why does this warning keep popping up, and how do I get rid of that?
Help....

Hi, when I would run AVG, the same thing happend to me. I found that there are two ways to get rid of it. 1. is to completely re-format the HD(pain in the ass). Or 2. to system restore it to a point when you weren't getting the warning. If the restore works or if you re-format, I'd recommend getting a better anti-virus program, I use Norton but there's many to choose from.

The warning is that it is hidden among your restore files which remain protected when you run a scan. Turn off system restore then run your AV program and it should be able to get it out.
click on my computer icon and open properties, then click on system restore tab and then check box to turn off system restore.
