go to download.com and get thecleaner it's free for 30 days try that and see if it gets rid of it, weird that its recognizing the trojan and not even just quaratining it though.

Per, trust Me this is very nasty.

A reinstall may be the easy way out, or
restore if that works anymore.

Removing it the wrong way can wipe out IE.

I actually did come across that one once, infected explorer.exe and all. The System Restore wiped it, then a purge of the restore got rid of any remaining backups.

Too bad restore is so unreliable, but it never hurts to try it. I've even seen one of the newer infections that intentionally disables it on you.

Good link for SW... better than just sending them to the homepage like I've been doing.

I have had two of these downloader trojans lately, and both times AVG didn't do anything except report it. I used Hijack this to look for the files, plus google searches and was finally able to get rid of the dang things. They seem to come mostly from the music download sights or from the programs related to making MP3 files, etc. Be VERY CAREFULL.

Good luck.

Bob ;)
