Hi! I have a virus problems for the past few days, but it wasn't until this morning that I had found the problem.

My computer had the Trojan Byte virus. I first noticed it when I went to a site and clicked on my own photo. which I had uploaded to that site recently. I clicked on it and then all of a sudden I found my own "Picture" folder in my documents/Pictures that was in my own computer was opening up. I clicked on my folder immediately and found that a few of my pictures which I had deleted sometime ago had been transported back to my "Picture" folders from the Recycle Bin. How did that happen?

So I quickly had deleted these photos. again and once again they were in the recycle bin.

This morning I ran a virus scan and found that I had the Torjan Byte virus, and that 3 files were infected. I tried to quanrantine them but I couldn't, so I had to delete the files. I then went into the recyle bin to delete them once again just to make sure they were gone.

Upon deletion of the 3 files, there were one file that was left in there that has 0 byte and the system said that I could not delete that file, it wouldn't allow me to do it, so I had no choice but to leave it there.

Then this afternoon I took out my own CD and put it into my CD drive, and took out a photo. to work on it. I worked on it for a while in the Adobe Photoshop, but when I went to reset the brightness level of the pic, then all of a sudden, the 3 files that I had deleted this morning came back into my "Pictures" folder!!!!! How could that have happened????? I had deleted those even from the recyle bin. How can these files came back by themselves?????

Could it be that someone has hacked into my computer with the virus and then was able to see what I was working on the screen and then manually uploaded the three files again to my "Pictures" folder? But then again my internet connection was disconnected. Can somebody look at what I was doing while I was doing it and upload the files to my directory even though the internet connection was off?

If I happened to have it on, can anyone do that? Look at my screen or explore my CD at the sametime when I was working on one file from my CD?

If you know this please advise me why the files had come back to the folder from the recycle bin.

Was it done on purpose by someone who wants to play a joke on me? or did the virus cause the files to jump back into my screen? Can anyone come into my system and watch what I was doing and did this to me manually?

I have Windows XP, and files are not sharing, and I need password to go into my own working area.

Please kindly advise me what is going on with my system.

Thank you so much, I know I have a long list of questions here, but I'm quite worried about everything now. Would appreciate some help and opinion.

Hi Anonymous:

Thank you for your response. I shall try that tonight when my hubby comes home.

What about all my other queries? Can this hacker see what I was looking at on my own screen at the time I was working on my pics? How did he get in to move my files from recyle bin back to the picture folder. If it's not him who had done that then who?

How did he get in when I had my internet connection was off?

Can he do this when the connection was on?

Can he see what I was seeing on the screen?

My system is Windows XP and password protected to go into my area, can he still get into my area by using this virus?

If you know this please reply to me. Thanks a million!

I very much doubt that you are being hacked, especially when you are offline. The hacker needs some way of being able to establish a connection with your computer which can't happen if you're offline unless you're connected to a network. Also, as far as I know it's impossible to move a file to a differnt location while it is in use without some sort of error message. You've either got a virus or a very buggy opperating system.

Thank you Matt. I think I was offline at the time, but I could be wrong. I remember I wanted to make sure the internet connection was off, and I had disconnected the internet connection. I hope I did anyway.

Thanks so much for your response!
