Tries to send document to printer.

July 7, 2011 at 10:11:39
Specs: Windows XP
Tries to send to printer and not let me save. First of all, I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHAT I AM DOING. In the past when I sent a document to the text only printer, it would give me an option to rename it. I could then pull this document up in my condensed program and it would convert it to a condensed transcript. I had to have my computer redone. Now, when I go to the text only printer, it shows that it is trying to print the document, not letting me resave it. Did I make any sense.

" Did I make any sense." - to be honest, no!

What do you mean by a 'text-only printer' - to me that's a typewriter (no computer), why would sending something to print offer to let you rename it? - are you talking about printing to a file - no actual printer attached? What is a 'condensed program' - definitely nothing I've heard of.

By 'have my computer redone' I take it that you mean that someone reinstalled Windows for you? Obviously it wasn't set up as your original system was because you had it set up in an unusual way. You need to either take it back to whoever reinstalled Windows and explain (better than you have here) exactly how you want it to behave, or you start using Windows print/save functions in the way they are designed - 'save' to a file; 'print' to a printer.
