Specs: Windows XP, 1GB
I attempted to flash the bios on my dead screen Acer Aspire one d150. Used fat formatted flash drive and copied the correct files from acer website. Held down fn and esc keys before powering on but the power indicator won;t blink. Just comes on as normal . tried several attempts but won't flash the bios.

If the screen is not working, why would you think updating the BIOS would help?

How do you know the procedure isn't working. There are steps that need to be taken after onscreen prompts are shown.

Thanks for response.
There is acommon fault with the acer netbooks. Powers on with fan running and green LED shows but doesnt boot up and shows a blank screen . Acer themselves admit that it is acommon fault due to defective bios. Have tested with external monitor to the VGA and the same blank screen shows up. It is a very common acer fault with the Aspire one netbooks. Installing another bios version is said to solve the problem. It usually works but not with mine.
