I have a trident bladexp with correct drivers installed. All of a sudden (overnight)I am now unable to view any 3d screensavers. Tried going into dxdiag to test directx and the directdraw and 3d tests hang my pc, as well as the 3d screensavers.

Upgraded directx 8.1 to 9b still nothing. Did a drastic thing and re-installed my o/s from scratch. Still having the same problem.

Any Ideas??

some folks using the Trident Blade card have solved their 3d problems by switching to the chipset manufacturer's drivers, for example:

dave: "big letters VIA on chip on MB. go to:

www.jaton.com/support/download/fvga.htm

make sure to download V107W9XV.exe."

Carlos: chip is a VIA Apollo MVP4 ( VT8501 + VT82C686A/B ) for VGA Controller ( HTTP ) or VGA Controller ( FTP )
