My old Compaq kept freezing on my for months..they could find nothing wrong so we bought a HP Pavilion. I want to pull my MP3s, MPGS and pics of my old PC (windows ME) and put on my new PC (windows XP) I bought one program today but you have to install the software on BOTH PCs. I cant get my old one to not freeze long enough to install let alone transfer files. How can I do this??? *DEE*
pull the old harddrive out. set the jumper on the back of it to sl [slave] connect it to the same ribbon cable as the new harddrive. boot up, open both drives and just drag and drop the files you want to the new drive.
ahhh you guys are funny! LOL Like I'd know what my hardrive even looked like! LOL

There are some websites out there with some good pictures of the whole process. If you feel uncomfortable, try asking someone you might know to do it for you (lots of people will do something this easy for a beer or two). Otherwise contact a PC repair shop and ask them how much it'd cost (I'd say basic charge of $35 or so).
