I removed some programmes on PC that I shouldn't have done and used system restore to put things right. Fine .. except now, when Windows is half way through loading the application tray, Windows Installer starts up and tries to locate the trayapp for HP Photo and Imaging 2.0 - deskjet series. It then tells me 'the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable' and gives me a 'browse' button to locate the missing .msi file. When I try to cancel I get an Error 1706 message. When I press OK the whole thing starts again and the only way out is to shut it down with Task Manager. As this programme must have come installed on PC why doesn't this file restore along with the programme? Any ideas, please?

the file got lost possibly...? the program sounds like it came with your printer, if you have a HP printer, pull out the driver/software cd and reinstall the software
you can remove the software from add/remove programs in the control panel

if you do not want to reinstall the software, you can just disable it from startup by goign to Start> run > msconfig press enter, then go to the startup tab and look for a reference to it and uncheck that reference

Thanks Josh. Have an HP printer and un-installed it but still got problem. Also tried msconfig and clicked on the only HP reference there - HP digital imaging. Still no joy. Pat
