Favorities are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Favorites what you can do is saved all the favorites to a file. open IE, file import, export select favorites it ask you where you want to save it, you can get your favorites whenever you want even you can transfer to firefox, opera are any browser with same import export.
