Specs: Windows XP

Data through Serial Transfer Speed Benchmark - November 19th 2010

Number of packets exchanged 59 29
Total number of bytes transferred 7,727,584 3,798,304
Test Duration 0:05:35 0:05:32

I completed this test using two different USB to serial converters as well as with a few different PC's and received similar results.

SABRENT SBT-USC1K USB to Serial (9-pin) DB-9 RS-232 Adapter Cable

TRENDnet TU-S9 USB to Serial Converter

Will there be a bottle neck when using a USB to Serial Cable and are there any tests that would give a better result of transfer speeds?

I'd use a large file and note times. Then maybe I'd move many small files.

Depends also on the format to the drive and the drive. Very few drives come close to the usb 2.0 speeds.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
