When I transfer photos to my computer ...the movies don't transfer.. I have a canon powershot A590 and my computer is a a Dell and its an XP
usually you have canon software to transfer the pics and movies.
otherwise you should be able to browse to the camera's drive and cut/copy and paste to a folder on your hard drive/desktop.Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

I already did that years ago ..I'm able to transfer photos but not videos
If you can copy/paste photos, you should be able to copy/paste videos. Whether they'll be playable or not is another issue. It would depend on the file format (.avi, .mp4, etc) & whether you have the proper software to play it.
Can you see the video files on the camera when you browse to them? If so, what file format are they and what is the typical video file size showing?
