Reply: (edit)Does your new pc have a network card? It's a bit more complicated than just connecting a cable. Do some reading on networking on either the networking forum here or visit www.wown.com And as a side issue, invest in some more ram otherwise we'll see you back soon asking "Why is my pc so slow?" Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for life.

Reply: (edit)Check out the Files And Settings Transfer Wizard. Run it on your new laptop, make a disk to use with the older computer. Then run it on the older computer, making sure you have something to transfer the data with depending on how much data you need to move. You can also use a network share. Then run it again on your new computer, pointing it to where the data is stored. Gets all of my documents, email, and address book in outlook express. MCSE, MCSA Messaging, baby!
