If they are clever, they will find the freeware! The good ones cost money... Hardware keystroke recorders can be purchased inside custom keyboards and do not slow down your computer, so they wont be noticed!
Personally, I would prefer a hidden camera.

You didn't say if they were sitting in front of your computer or getting to you from online. If sitting at your computer then 2 methods come to mind. 1> A multi layer password system. 2> Remove the power button and replace it with a key switch. If coming from online then when you're not using the computer disconnect the device you use to get to the outside world. Or simpler just shut it down. Flip the power switch on the back of the case so it can't be woke up from a LAN or ringer signal. That kills the power supply. Now as for a tracker program, they're bunches of them. Some good and stealthy some are crap. I agree with getting a camera and stashing it somewhere it can see the computer. But if was me getting abused like that I would be more concerned about that dick hiding kiddie porn on my machine. I would back up all my files I want to keep and do a low level format. That kills everything. Reinstall and start over.
