i am very technicaly inclinded but i dont understand and want to know something when i go to download something i start at 14. kbps then is drops to 7. kbps and on down till about an average 5.kbps to 4. now aside from why is there a way to stop it from happening meaning to keep a high transfer rate when downloading i know and understand that the service provider and traffic can make a diff and so can from the source i am downloading from as well..

What is happening is the download has already started before the little box pops up so it's just catching up. Your actual download speed is what it settles down to after a while. This is the way it works for everyone no matter what connection speed you have. In my case downloads start at about 700KBs and settle down to about 350-400KBs after a few seconds
