Comment: Hi, Have taken my son-in-laws Toshiba DVD SD M1502 and put it in my PC. I took out my existing CD Rom (Drive E - Drive D is the CDRW) and replaced the connections exactly as before. He had it running in W2000 OK. I can't get the PC to recognise Drive E for some reason. The DVD lights up and runs when I put a CD / DVD in it, so the power is there etc. Is there a driver please other than the MS DOS one on the Toshiba site which I can install ? I can't get anything on the Install Wizard and 'My Computer' just shows A - C - D - F. Your help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Richie (UK)

Reply: (edit)Look in control panel/admin tools/computer management/disk management, and make sure the drive is there, and has a drive letter assigned If its not there, make sure you set the Jumper correctly [Master/Slave/Cable Select] when you installed it.

Reply: (edit)Hello Aftab, You're a scholer and a gentleman. It was that my son in law had the cable in the 'cable select' and not 'slave'. I should have worked that one out on the fact my drives are the opposite way round to his. Very many thanks again - all working 100 per cent. Cheers, Richie
