Comment: I have a question about my friends laptop, its a Toshiba Satellite A35 and she is having fan problems. Her computer constantly overheats then shuts off due to high heat, but her fan is hardly on high very often. Do you guys know of any good software apps which could change the fan speed and monitor it? I have searched quite a bit but found nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

Reply: (edit)on toshiba laptops thtere is no way to controll it aside from the limmited toshiba software. There is probaly somthing wrong with a heat synk or the fan not the software. If it over heats look at the hard ware...fans are oonly a small part of cooling a cpu...Having the fan on full power may not have any effect. Toshiba laptops have a programm that allowes for the user to conserve battery life by lowering the cooling power. If the cpu speed is maxed out the cooling should be to.

Reply: (edit)I have that problem with the Satellite A30. Sedtting the 3gHz processor down to 1/4 speed solves the computer suddenly shutting off, destroying all work. But the bigger problem is for about 5 seconds before and after the fan changes speed, the processor uses up 100% processing power, and keystrokes made during this time make random chaos with my work. Deletes sections, or always the input is at a random part of a page. This makes this computer slower to work with then an old IBM at 300 MhZ. Anyone found any solution to this?
