hello, my computer recently got alot of spyware on it. I am trying to perform the restore application that came with my toshiba s207 laptop. The problem is, i don't know how to activate the restore applicaion after I put the restore cd into the drive. I remember there is a button to press to activate the restore. Does anyone know what key it is to activate it?
i have a compaq, and all you do is put the cd in the drive, turn off the pc, then turn it back on and away you go.

Did you try to reboot the laptop with the recovery disc in the CD rom. If it won't read the CD then the boot sequence will have to be changed in the bios. Try the ESC key or the F1 key when starting the laptop at the splash screen. My s120 uses the Esc key.

Summary: restore CD's are more idiot proof and, cheaper for the ome's but not better. Point #3 isn't valid, the full install can be on 1 cd & drivers & apps on another. This way you can pick the ones you want....
