My Toshiba laptop, Satlellite A-135, will not turn on. It just died. When you press the on switch the light will come on for a second and go off. The unit has a new power supply (cord and transformer)supplied by Toshiba. My question is: Is the unit suppose to come on with just the power cord plugged in and with the battery removed? If so this would eliminate the main unit itself and point to the battery.

This has happened to other Toshiba Laptops with Windows 2000.
Try this:
1. Unplug the laptop
2. Remove the battery
3. Press the power button 3 times
4. Plug in the computer
5. Press the power button
