Toshiba Laptop won't boot up

Specs: Windows XP

My Toshiba Laptop won't boot up ONLY has power (Green) light, fan is on all the time, DVD driver start runnig but nothing on screen!!
Try to....
connected external monitor to VGA port, but nothing.
attempted booting from CD with ubuntu, disk spins but does not load.
removed RAM swapped slots, no change.
removed HD, no change.
Removed internal wifi card, no change.
running with/without battery, no change.

Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would try removing all power from the machine, (battery and a/c adapter) and holding the power button in for 10-20 seconds. Then put battery back in and see if you get anything on the display.
If discharging the static electricity (with above steps) doesn't work, you are more than likely looking at a bad motherboard.

This solution worked for me!!!

I've had this problem before and had no idea how to fix it. I thought my machine was broken forever, so I didn't touch it for several days. When I finally tried turning it on again, it worked--like magic.

So I thought...this time around, maybe I'll just need to wait a few days again. But then I found this solution and followed these steps and BINGO it's up and running again! Thank you so much! I guess i gotta watch out for that tricky static electricity!
