I recently got a (used) Toshiba Satellite A25-S208 laptop with XP Pro installed. I also have a desktop (Dell Dimension with Vista) hooked up to Qwest DSL (2Wire Gateway) with wireless capabalities.
I can get the wireless connection on the laptop and can get on Yahoo's homepage, but that's all. I can't surf the net at all. I'm laptop illiterate so I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question. I'm just getting really boggled by what I might be doing wrong.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sheryl Spencer, Suspect your problem lies in your security settings on the laptop. Take a look (under IE) and be sure they're no higher than medium.

We may need to know a little more information. You can get on Yahoo's homepage, then from there, when you click links, does it do anything? Does it show you a "page not found error" or just stay on the Yahoo page? What happens when you type in a website in the address bar?
The reason I ask is because if you can access Yahoo, you're obviously on the internet, but not being able to get any further than only that one webpage is baffling.

I agree on the baffling part. I can get on MSN's home page as well, but when I try to click on links, type in addresses or try to go to Google's homepage, it either shows the page cannot be displayed error, or the bar keeps looking like it's trying to load, but will just sit there.
