I was wondering if this is normal, or not usual:
I download torrents very often. I have tried many different clients, but always come back to BITCOMET. The last month hoever, I imagine (I am pretty sure) my torrents avarage download speed has gotten slower than before in bitcomet.
I have a 3mbit connection, and now I usually download on about 40 kb\s even on very new torrents with LOTS of seeders/leechers.
And suddenly, the speed can rise to about 150 kb\s but then it falls down again after some seconds. is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. It's all to do with the tracker allocating pieces of the file to (and from) different IP's.

Hi snkupo
Though your problem is not software based but have u tried utorrent. It is a good one...cheers

Yes, I have a 1.5Mb connection and regularly get download speeds of only 13kb/s.
Of course, it varies up to around 450kb/s (rarely).
I'm using ABC, but have had the same results with Azureus and BitTornado.

Just thought I'd add, I'd love to get 200kb/s or better all the time, but when there's one seed and ten leechers, it's not feasible.
The numbers just don't add up.
Even one seed to one leecher would only allow the leecher to download as fast as the seeder can upload.
It sounds to me that until a month ago, you were downloading popular torrents with lots of seeds.

Could you just try that torrent for 5 minutes or so and tell me which speed you get? Btw, I always have high upload speed.

Most seeders limit there torrent upload speed to only 1 Kb because they don't want you using all there bandwidth.
Fed up with Windows? Try Ubuntu Linux

That torrent took a long time to actually connect to seeds/peers. That's a sign of high workload on the tracker.
I'm connected to 9 (of 305) seeds and 4 (of 281) peers. It's downloading at an aveage of 6.5kb/s.
The high number of available seeds/peers suggests that this will download fast, if I leave it long enough, because the tracker will connect me to other seeds/peers when it can.

Thanks for your help Sci Guy. Appriciated. I think maybe I just was very lucky earlier, or maybe old Bitcomet versions were just too greedy on DL speed?

Anyways, is it better or worse when thinking DL speed if I increase the number of connected Peers? I have that option in my client you see.
