Hi to all!
I'm interested in what 5 programs are your favourite ones. What kind of software is there on your computer, you cant live without and you'll never refuse? Lets call the top 5 of our most loved tools:-) There is my top 5 software (IMHO, of course):
1)
SIM ICQ (Simple Instant Messenger) The most convenient and smart application for loading ICQ, IRC, MSN, AIM. It always loads contact list (which usual ICQ and even Trillian can't do sometimes) and never has glitchs.
2) The Bat It is the most convenient and easy E-mail client I ever used!
3) Acronis True Image One of the things i'll never refuse:). It helps me to back up and always do it without any problems and very quickly.
4) Light Alloy Player One more software which I like very much. It allows do fullscreen or stop movie or change loudness or scroll video only with mouse!
5) WinAmp It playes all music filles and even can view video (but I don't use this feature). It also has an easy interface and a huge amount of different original skins. I downloaded a lot of skins from its site and sometimes change them:)

Well cnf, these are my favorites:

Your Uninstaller 2004: It completly removes any software and registry keys that Windows sometimes leaves and it even shows you the hidden software. you can even select which process's you want to start up. Any new software that is installed will be in red when you first open the program so it's not a pain to search for it.

Creative Media Source: I like how you can adjust the speaker settings and calibrate them as well. The different sounds that it offers is really nice!

WindowBlinds: Just because you are not stuck with the same thing all the time.

Icon Packager: For the same reason as Windowblinds. You can almost match the icons to the skin that you are using.

Microsoft Works: You can use this for so many things. From resume's, monthly budget, writing letters, cards etc. It is one of my most favorite programs to use.

Sorry XPUser, I didn't think about someone wanting to try them. The Creative Media Source came with my soundcard though. Microsoft Works can also be purchased in almost any store that sells software. If I had to recommend just one of these it would be Your Uninstaller 2004. I could do without the others if I had to but not YU 2004!

Hi michelle - much appreciated, thanks. That will do. To create linkable links you need to use HTML.

I was waiting for smdb starts this thread. One can say that he or she will know you better if they tell them about you smth. It's like introducing yourself. Cnf, you're supposed to be a mindreader :)

Okey, Let's Start:

My number one is OS Selector OS Selector : have to use linux so fast, but i like to play pc games like Starcraft BW or NFS Underground, so i have to switch my OS's very often.

My number 2 is Opera Opera : the best browser ever existed and its award of this year is another evidence of its quality

Almost my number 3 is Nero Nero: have no enough space for all my images and movies, that's why i use it

Number 4 is Foobar: great melodies and low memory use

And finally 5th number goes to ...Adobe Acrobat
: it's free and easy to use, sure there are some issues with it, but i use it

Abs0, I think that you are mixing up Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader. The first one can be used to create, edit and view PDFs while the second just allows to view them. The latter is definitely not free.

My favourites:
1) OpenOffice.org: a free office suite, has most of the Office 2003 functionality in the latest beta and the files can be saved as PDF without external programs.

2) Kerio Personal Firewall: my favourite firewall which removes most of the ads from the web pages I visit, regardless of the browser used.

3) K-Meleon: a fast and lightweight browser with tabbed browsing. Has save session/open last session functionality which I have found extremely useful.

4) Micro DVD Player: I use this program to play all MPEG and AVI files. Has much nicer GUI than Windows Media Player and loads faster.

5) FreeRAM XP Pro: free and powerful memory manager for Win9x/2K/XP. Essential especially with small amounts of RAM.
