too many programs running

My computer has a TON of random programs running in the task manager. It is not connected to the internet right now because its not working. avg healed a bunch of viruses and norton wont install..... the programs look like ewsdjk67g3.exe

So it seems, that your PC is still infected, because as far as I know, there is no program with such random name, that you can normally download and install, except trojans or viruses.

Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:
1. Open your Start menu. 2. Click Run 3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" 4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab 5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using. 6. Click "OK"
You need to increase virtual memory, delete temporary files and uncheck any unnecessary start up programs. You need to have proper AntiVirus and Anti Spyware programs set up and running.
