I recall you both having similar problems with msinfo32 that invoked the Help and Support rather than the system information. In case you still have not yet found the solution, there is a workaround here that may interest you. Let me know if this helps :-) i_XpUser

I had the same problem. The workaround brought it right up. Thank you. Running System Information as a parameter from Run > Dialog > "msinfo32.exe" enables Help and Support Module and not System Information. Issue can be duplicated when running from Desktop shortcut menus. Workaround: Running this parameter from Run > Dialog: type the following: (note spacing) "msinfo32 /categories +all -loadedmodules"

I suspect that the problem might be fixed by extracting the msinfo32.exe file from the XP CD. I can't test it because I don't have SP2 installed.
