Hi Justin,

In the XP Forum, I've noticed on a daily basis that we have received many new messages about XP SP2. I think its time for CN to do what other Forums have already done - set aside a new forum dedicated to SP2.

Regards

I respectfully disagree. The XP forum has served us well since XP's introduction, and has dealt with all sorts of XP questions, some of which have taken considerable space and time.

To further fragment the forum serves no useful purpose and, in fact, has the potential to cause confusion, especially among newer and less epxerienced inquirers.

Let XP serve XP.

If you did that for XP, wouldn't you have to have like four forums for Win 2K?

I tend to agree with XpUser. Maybe a temporary forum as this is a major O/S update with many ancillary problems Maybe a 6 month forum until the bugs are sorted out. {until the bugs are sorted out. rotflmao!].
I personally have had problems on 3 occasions of trying sp2 and would find it convenient to search a dedicated forum for the fixes. My 2 cents. Per.
Yeah XpUser, still alive. Thx.

If I may put in my two bits worth, I would have to agree with Salgolf. I beleive that the problems with SP2 today is a flash in the pan and it will blend into the mainstream in the near future. If memory serves me correctly we went thru the same uproar with SP1. There is very little written now about SP1 and SP2 will follow the same route.

Hello,

I am extremely hesitant to make a forum like the one you describe. Like the others said, give it some time. I'm sure the posts specifically about XP SP2 will die down. Temporary forums just aren't the type of thing I do. I like knowledge bases that are built up over time in a permanent form. Temporary forums wouldn't do that.

I have read the comments above and I feel strongly about the fact that M$ brings out SP2 and sits back for everyone else to resolve their bloody problems for them.

It is them that should be thoroughly testing their products before unleashing them on the paying public.

The onus is on them to tell us what the hell they are doing to resolve the problems the have inflicted on us not the other way round.

Would you pay for a new car and then have to tell them what is wrong with it until your car is roadworthy I do not think so!! so why with all the M$ OS's etc....

It is about time that the world realised what a con M$ has been and is with regard to trade description for their products.

regards,
duncan

All right, I conceded.

duncan,

What you've said makes a lot of sense! Let the other Forums do the dirty work for them.

Cheers
