Noticed in my AV scan record, the results of scans denote file not found for/at...
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\tmp.edb
Did some poking around regarding this file, seems related to the MS's/Windows auto-update (which I run it disabled).
I do have an edb.log file in that directory, just no tmp.edb file.
Could having disabled auto-updates be why the file isn't found?
Also, in that any hacker certainly must know what the file extensions are for file names in various directories, and in folder properties we have the option to 'hide extensions for known files', what purpose is this folder feature? Simply for displaying a 'cleaner' list of files?
Thanks in advance for shared experience and/or views.
Regards and hap-e-trails, Steve Hopper
