Hi!

Ok, perhaps I'm an idiot, but still, I need to get this problem solved, it's driving me insane. I Followed a tip from PN's book Windows XP, adding a new right click command to a folder, by using Tools->Folder options->File types->Folders->advanced->and new ("cmd.exe /k "cd %1"). Now I can't double click myself down a folder hiearchy anymore, the only thing that happens is that cmd.exe runs! And I can't seem to get rid of the command either. Which wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

Please...

Cheers, jonas

Jonas: a few things to try to disable the command;

1. click Start, Run, type: cmd
if the original command was: cmd.exe /k "cd%1"
then at the Command Console prompt, type:
cmd /s /k "cd%1"

2. if that doesn't work, try this at the Command Console prompt: cmd /e:off /k "cd%1"

3. if still no joy, try a registry tweak;
first set a restore point by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.

then click Start, Run, type: regedit
and drill down to:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\EnableExtensions
highlight Command Processor in the left pane,
right-click EnableExtensions in the right pane,
select Modify,
change Value data to 1 or 0.

then do the same for;
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\EnableExtensions

let us know what worked for you...
